Daily Divination 4/9/16 ~ Changes in Wealth & Security

Today’s rune reading begins with Hagalaz, the Storm Rune, or the rune of drastic change or disruption. This rune represents the effects of unforeseen or uncontrollable forces, and often accompanies great changes in one’s situation.

This upheaval type of energy, while it may be frightening at times, is necessary to make space for new development. It can shift the tone of complacency and be a positive force in that it can dislodge negative habits or habitual circumstance.

Othala is the rune of inheritance or physical possessions. It reminds us of the need for material security and the important role it plays in our lives.

It can also represent hard work, dedication, vision, and other necessary ingredients of success, so it is generally a very positive rune. One must be careful not to take this energy in excess, however, as this can lead to greed or materialistic hoarding.

Considering the two together, with Othala acting on Hagalaz, we see the theme of change in material wealth or one’s relationship to material wealth. This could mean many things, and you should consider what that might mean to you. Perhaps a new job opportunity? Maybe a great stroke of luck? You may even find yourself becoming more self-reliant and feeling less desire for material things.

Always be weary of disruptive and chaotic forces, but leave room for their cleansing effect for these things may very well be blessings in disguise.

Daily Divination April 8, 2016 ~ The Waking of the Peaceful Warrior

Dagaz and Tiwaz Reversed

Today’s reading comes full circle from last Tuesday’s Daily Divination. With Dagaz and Tiwaz the warrior theme continues, though today Tiwaz appears in reverse. What might the reverse of the warrior rune represent and how does it affect the rune of the dawn? Let’s explore.

daily divination 4716

In the first position, we have Dagaz, the rune of the dawn, and also the rune of breakthrough or quick, bold change. It symbolizes transformation, awakening, and creativity. It can also represent ideas or concepts coming into fruition.

What role does the dawn play in our lives? We wake to it with the energy of a new day. A new set of possibilities, and a whole new set of challenges. If you look at the design of this glyph you can imagine the rays of light emitting from a single point like the sign rising up over the horizon at the dawn of a new day.

Tiwaz reversed warns us that we must act with great care. Our actions may be uninformed and made in haste. Tiwaz in reverse may also represent a blockage in one’s own creativity which can be overcome by self-discipline.

To be a peaceful warrior we must practice courage with compassion as well as mindful action instead of reaction. There may be challenges or things in our lives that seem out of our control and if that is true then focus on the things that are in your control and leave the rest up to spirit.

Daily Divination ~ A Tidal Wave of Emotion

Yesterday I was fortunate to receive a new reading cloth! It’s basically a large soft handmade scarf that you use exclusively for tarot readings, and even wrapping your cards in to keep them safe. A sacred cloth, so to speak.

This was the first reading I did on this cloth. I actually pulled it in reverse, from right to left.

This reading takes place entirely in the suit of cups (emotions), and 3 of the 4 cards are Court Cards.

Have a look.

4 waters daily divination

Lets do the breakdown, in the order it was drawn.

Prince of Cups Reversed – The Mental, Observing the Emotion

This card in its reversed form is indicating turning the entire ocean upside down and it submerging the ocean in the air. The mind being overtaken by emotion, not necessarily with any action, but the complete washing over between the two spiraling realms – The Mind and the Emotions.

The King of Cups – The Male Maturity of the Emotional Realm

This card describes the embodiment of Emotions from a spiritually complete realm. Unlike the Prince, who observes the emotions from the Mind, the King now understands them mentally so well that he responds to them as they flow through him. He lives them fully, he is not restricted by them, they are a fundamental flow of his being.

The Queen of Cups – The Soul of the Water

the Queen of Cups is the Emotions herself. She is pure emotion, passion, feeling. Where the King flows emotions from the heart through his being, the Queen is the emotional security that comes from such a deep emotional connection and knowing. She is calm, intuitive, and compassionate beyond measure.

The Ace of Cups – The Impulse of Emotion!

This card is indicative of the Impulse of emotion that is the beginning of so many of our stories. When people fall in love, when love brings people together. Family, friends, relationships… These are a result of our emotions wanting something, and then realizing each other as a source of that desire, and a way to make it happen. It is the bringing together of loving energies that create the 2 of Cups – Love, the 3 of cups – Abundance, and the 4 of cups – Pleasure.

All Together

These cards, altogether, describe the flipping of youthful male energy on its head to evolve the universal consciousness of matured emotional energy. The King and Queen (Our mature selves) hold the center of the emotional realm, causing impulse of emotion itself, and the flipping around of Youthful-understandings on its head.

In the presence of a true emotional stability, it creates strength in all of those that come near it.

Practically, for you today:

Take a look at all of this symbolism and think about who they may relate to. Whether all of the aspects exist within yourself, or if there are aspects of these that are strongly connected to someone close to you or that you’ve interacted with today.

There’s a relationship between these people, and your inner emotions, as often you will find it’s both the inside, and the outside.

Take a look at those connections and meditate upon them. Think about what it means. If you are the Prince of Cups, and your going to get emotionally schooled, it’s best to flow with that large cup of emotion because it will lead to your own maturity.

If you are in the mature space to someone else who is not, and you’re flipping things on their head… Take care of them, because theres a huge whirlwind taking place for them!

And with that,

I bid you a wonderful, water filled day.

With love,
Jordan

Daily Divination 4/5/16 ~ Time to Be a Warrior!

Uruz reversed followed by Tiwaz

Today’s reading reminds us that every so often, it is time to stand up and be a warrior. We want to be peaceful, we want to be happy, loving, and caring to each other. We should do that as much as we possibly can, but eventually, somebody somewhere is just going to be an obstacle, and that obstacle will need to be overcome.

rune 4416 keywords

We all have a warrior in us. In ancient times, that warrior jumped to action when a tiger came into camp. That warrior protects her children and defends his family. That warrior is represented by the rune Tiwaz, named after the Nordic god of war, Tyr, and is now our common symbol of an arrow. He is known through the ages for his honor, justice, and courage. Uruz is the rune of the ox, most known for its strength and stamina, which give it the ability to overcome virtually any obstacle.

In this reading, however, Uruz is reversed. Nine of the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark, (the set in this reading), can manifest in reverse which results in a different, sometimes opposite, meaning. Uruz in reverse can be interpreted externally as dangers or more internally as areas in which we may lack strength.

What we interpret in this meaning as it applies to today, is that it might be time to take on your fears, your personal demons, or your obstacles. Call on your inner warrior to stand up and fight off some of the things that are holding you back. This could be a person, a plan, a lack of motivation or some nagging obligations that you have not yet conquered.

It is time to stand in your power and take charge. Let your warrior lead the way and have faith in your own strength.

Daily Divination 4/4/16 ~ Your Journey is Set!

The Eight of Airships is from one of our stranger decks, the Steampunk Tarot! I was pleasantly suprised to find so much about Hermes upon opening up the book.

Either way, this is quite a delightful little deck, and we’re going to be doing the reading based off of the image described and intuition! Here we go!

airships

This one shows a man standing on the top of a large airship, flying over the clouds towards an unknown destination. Its interesting to note that the sharp razor thin moon appears above them, also with bunch more airships on the same course as this one.

The clouds are red, and there is a bright red horizon along a purple line at the edge of the horizon. This could imply the final destination being the crown chakra, but going THROUGH the root (the physical). to get there.

The man, mounted firmly upon the top of his ship, observes the oncoming view, seeing new sights as never before.

As this is an Air card, it is represented by Mind. It might mean a new voyage of the mind, and it could literally mean going somewhere new, and experiencing new thoughts as a result of such things!

Regardless, this guy is prepared for anything!  He’s got his air canisters, his lights, binoculars, weapon, and pouch. His course is set.

Where are YOU going today?

With love,
Jordan

April 3rd Divination – Thought is the Key

Today the card to represent today is the Ace of Swords – the Essence of Thought itself.

Lets have a look, shall we?

daily divination swords

The Ace of Swords is the Essence of Thought, as Swords is a representation of the Mind.

It is the most raw, essential aspect of the Mind that there is. A pure thought.

Thought is what compels us to do all manner of things, in almost every aspect of our lives, our mind governs our actions and behavior from moment to moment. It is the storage bank of thought, the wisps of ideas, the analysis of the cosmos.

The Ace of Swords is the seed of the intellectual knowing,  which implies thinking, analysing, realizing through logic and mind.

Today is also Sunday, the day of the Sun – the 7th Day, the day God Rested, and the day you shall as well.

Today is the day to meditate and be one with your thoughts and mind. Please, consider taking some time today to meditate and allow your thoughts to crystallize in your mind. It will set yourself up beautifully for the week to come.

With love,
Jordan
