The Secret of Neem: The Contraceptive Big Pharma Doesn’t Want You To Know About

There’s only one perfect method of safe sex – abstinence. But let’s be honest, abstinence is no fun for anyone. So in reality, you’ll turn to some form of contraception. The problem, however, is that most contraceptives are unnatural and sometimes produce unwanted side effects.

Contraceptives:

Depending on the contraceptive, it may affect your hormonal system or fertility levels. It looks like you’re in a bind: you want to have sex, but you don’t want to sacrifice your bodily health, what do you do? You look for a natural contraceptive alternative.

Well, you and your partner could be in luck, because I may have stumbled across the perfect solution. This solution comes in the form of neem extract. Neem is a tree found in India, and like nearly every other plant in India, it has some sort of valuable medicinal property. In this case, neem extract has the potential to function as a natural contraceptive.

Neem As a Natural Alternative:

Using neem extract as a contraceptive isn’t actually a new idea; research on neem’s potential as a spermicide has been ongoing since the 1960s.

Studies have been examining the effects that neem oil has on the vas deferens (the tubes that carry sperm)  in comparison to surgical vasectomy.

Trials have been experimented with neem extract as a reversible male contraceptive.

  • For instance, in one experiment, male mice were fed crushed neem leaves before mating with female mice. Ultimately, fewer female mice were impregnated, and those whom were impregnated birthed smaller average litter sizes. Moreover, within eleven weeks, neem showed a 100% contraception rate within the mice. Best of all, the contraceptive effect was reversed within six weeks of withdrawing the neem.

Minimal Side effects:

Experiments showed that mammals had no clear changes in libido or hormonal systems when taking neem as a male contraceptive. Neem extract doesn’t change the rate of spermatogenesis; all that happens is a reduction in the motility of the sperm.

Sperm motility relates to the ability of the sperm to move; therefore, a man can have a high sperm count, but if his sperm motility is abnormally low then it will reduce his sperms ability to conceive.

The truth, though, is that we really don’t know too much about neem….

It’s still pretty new:

Before you rush off to India in search of neem trees, you should remember that these studies have been performed in limited experiments. You should not use neem until its properties and effects are fully known.

Although the autoimmune system doesn’t appear to have any significant reaction to neem, researchers acknowledge the possibility of a localized reaction.

No formal human or comprehensive studies have been undertaken, and until such time, we must refrain from jumping ahead of ourselves.

Neem shows promising benefits, but only time will tell what true power it holds.
